The owners of EcoLumina are happy to announce that the first of the owner's notebooks are now available on the EcoLumina.org website.
These notebooks represent hundred hours of research. They cover many topics relating to green building. The initial idea for making them available on this web site came from discussions with Laura Truner Seydel, who along with husband Rutherford are the owners of EcoManor (see www.EcoManor.com). The Seydels and the team at DES-SYN did much pioneering work in green building. DES-SYN is also part of the EcoLumina team. Laura suggested that it would be very helpful to others interested in green building to be able to take advantage of some of this research.
The first of the notebooks relates to water topics. In Atlanta, water is a critical problem. Our goal is to be independent from the city water supply if possible. We hope to do this by collecting rainwater and using that for all our domestic and landscaping needs. In addition, we will be incorporating greywater recycling. All this is outlined in the EcoLumina Water System section of the notebooks (see http://www.ecolumina.org/Notebooks).
